About Me

Hey Y'all! My name is Darren Hartwell and I am a West Virginia University Graduate, living in Roanoke, Virginia. I left my home of Princeton, West Virginia to pursue a degree in broadcast journalism, and I found the Country Roads bringing me back to Appalachia to share its story.

I studied photography and photojournalism while attending WVU, and fell in love with the art that could be made with a moment in time. My photography captures the beauty of buildings, people and art in the community that continue to drive my own creativity.
